Report: Lynch leaving Cubs

Ed Lynch, a former general manager who has been working as a scout for the Cubs, is leaving the club for a job with Major League Baseball, according to a report by Bruce Levine at ESPNChicago.com.

Lynch was the Cubs GM from 1994-2000, when he was fired and replaced by Andy MacPhail. Lynch has worked as a scout in Arizona since that departure.
