Businesswomen's meeting
Reservations are due Friday for Tuesday's Geneva Women in Business luncheon. Four GWIB members will discuss customer service, stress management, time management and market strategy. Gifts for military personnel
The City of Aurora again will send gifts to residents in active military service who are stationed in the U.S. or overseas. Service personnel will receive a one-pound box of mixed nuts provided by the Kiwanis Club of Aurora and a card in time for the holidays. Names and mailing addresses of residents in active military service can be given to the Mayor's Office of Special Events at (630) 844-4731 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or e-mailed to syoung@aurora-il.org. The deadline is Friday.
School finance forum
Geneva school administrators and the school board will have a community forum to discuss the district's goals and long-range financial planning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive.
Pastor, author speaks at AU
"Why should we bother with church history" will be the topic when Rev. Jonathan Dean, assistant pastor of Downers Grove United Methodist Church, speaks at 10 a.m. Saturday at Aurora University's Eckhart Hall, 347 S. Gladstone Ave. Dean, a former adjunct professor at the university, will sign his book, "Servitude and Freedom." Call (630) 844-4885.
Geneva craft show
The Mothers Club of Geneva is holding its 35th Annual Holiday Art and Craft Show on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave. Admission is $4 for adults, under 12 free. Delnor ball Saturday
The Delnor Auxiliary has "The Diamond Celebration: A Past to Cherish, A Promise to Fulfill" ball Saturday at St. Charles Country Club. Tickets are $175 each; black-tie dress is optional.
