Boy accused of pointing knife at students

A high school freshman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after gesturing at Glen Ellyn students with a knife, police said.

Glen Ellyn police were called to Hadley Junior High School at 240 Hawthorne Blvd. after school was dismissed. The boy became involved in an argument with several Hadley students outside school, according to a news release.

School personnel noticed the exchange, put a stop to the incident and instructed the high school student to leave the area. At that point, the Hadley students told school personnel that the boy had gestured at them with an open pocketknife.

School officials called 911, and police arrested the boy, who they said had a small pocketknife in his possession.
