Want to go 'green'? Support Pace
I'm writing regarding Pace bus routes 616, 637, 690, 696 and 699.
On Monday's (October 19th) meeting at Pace headquarters it was told how the R.T.A. was taking all funds and giving it all to the C.T.A. leaving Pace with nothing.
Forcing Pace to stare at a 6.5 million dollar budget gap. Unlike the state and county it cannot operate in a "Panacea's Universe" in order to make tough decisions it is eliminating 52 bus routes leaving 200 bus routes to service Suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties.
This doesn't only affect able bodied riders. In order to use paratransit/A.D.A. service there must be a fixed route within 3/4 of a mile of service, how will these people shop and work, and put a greater burden on Illinois First Transit going to doctors and hospitals for checkups and testing.
You say you want a green environment? Prove it. Write or call your state senators, tell them to vote "yes" on Senate Bill 941 and tell Pace we need our busses at www.pacebus.com in the "Public Hearing Comment Form."
