Families invited to Auto, Home and Business EXPO
The GLMV Chamber of Commerce's Auto, Home and Business EXPO on Saturday, Nov. 14, will offer something for everyone, officials say.
Held at the Libertyville Sports Complex, the free EXPO is designed to provide a valuable family-friendly event for the whole community that supports the local businesses, including car dealers, home improvement companies and other businesses.
The EXPO will also include entertainment, showcasing the talents of local school and community groups.
There will be a New & Classic Car Showcase, Home Improvement Showcase, plus local products, services and resources all under one roof.
This is the first time the annual EXPO has included an auto show.
"We were exploring ways to help the local car dealers boost their exposure and do more business, and we came up with the idea to feature them in the EXPO," said chamber public relations director Carol Levin. "Having them present is also a way to generate attendance for the business vendors, as we anticipate there are many car enthusiasts who will want to attend."
There will be 30 cars inside the sports complex, 15 of which will be new models from local dealers. The rest are restored classics including ones used in the movies "Public Enemies" starring Johnny Depp and "Fast & Furious" starring Vin Diesel.
Chamber officials say the event also will appeal to early holiday shoppers and people looking to fix up their homes.
"People will want to attend to support the local businesses within the community, plus they will find a wide range of products, resources and services," Levin said. "They will discover businesses that can help them in their personal and business life."
About 50 vendors, plus 3 car dealers, will be displaying products, services and resources targeted to individuals and businesses.
Vendor space and sponsorships are still available, Levin said.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the sports complex, located at the corner of Route 45 and Peterson Road. For more information, contact the chamber at (847) 680-0750 or visitglmvchamber.org.
