Media shutout news only to conservatives

I'm truly amused by the petulance of Fox in response to the Obama administration's position it does not view Fox as a news organization. In the leadup to the Iraqi invasion, I wrote many letters to the Daily Herald editor regarding the false information put forth by Fox's "news programs" and its opinion shows. The lies and distortions by Fox are not new, simply more vitriolic.

In fact, former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino stated on Fox and Friends on Oct. 19 that the Bush Administration largely froze out MSNBC toward the end of the Bush administration. Additionally, MSNBC's David Shuster in an appearance on the Stephanie Miller Show on Oct. 20 stated that for four years the Office of the Vice President, despite repeated requests, refused to allow anyone to appear on MSNBC to discuss the Valerie Plame situation, even though representatives of the Bush administration repeatedly appeared on Fox to discuss that issue.

Yet, there was no huge hue and cry about MSNBC being shut out or treated unfairly So the statements by many from the right that this has never happened before is simply the typical whine from the Republican Party/Fox/Drudge/Limbaugh, et al to drive the corporate media to cover what the right-wing wants covered. Sadly, the corporate media will likely comply as usual.
