Revamped Guess Who coming to Arcada Theatre in St. Charles
Forget "American Woman"! For me, the signature Guess Who tune is "These Eyes," as heart-rending a breakup song as you'll ever hear. A revamped Guess Who will run through the band's catalog of hits this weekend in St. Charles, though without the gravelly pipes of singer Burton Cummings.
8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. Tickets start at $49. Visit oshows.com or call (630) 587-8400.
Eagle flies solo
Don Henley, a driving force behind the Eagles and a hugely successful solo artist in his own right, hits the suburbs next week for some 1970s and '80s fun.
8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, Rosemont. $35-$142. Go to ticketmaster.com or call (800) 745-3000 to charge by phone.
Coolest nerds ever
Devo, the Ohio geeks who delivered a slew of classic new wave records in the late 1970s and '80s, returns on a tour that celebrates two of the band's best: the 1978 debut "Are We Not Men?" and 1980's "Freedom of Choice," which included the pop hit "Whip It." The group will play the former record straight through on the first night of their two-night stand, following that up with the second record the next night. We are Devo!
8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13, at the Vic Theatre, 3145 N. Sheffield, Chicago. $40. Go to jamusa.com for tickets.
