Suicide group to meet:

Historian to speak at AU:

American Indian educator, author and historian Marjorie June Williams-Waheneka presents "A Traditional Woman in a Contemporary World" at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Schingoethe Center for Native American Cultures at Aurora University, 1400 Marseillaise Place. Dog obedience trial:

Fox Valley Dog Training Club will be hosting its 58th annual Obedience Trial and 4th annual Rally Trial Sunday at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Spectators are welcome to watch many breeds of dogs competing at the three main levels of Obedience and three levels of Rally. Show hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Delays on Indian Trail:

Indian Trail Road between Church Road and Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora is reduced to two lanes while temporary pavement is installed along the outside eastbound lane. Indian Trail will remain open to traffic, but delays are expected. The work is scheduled to be finished by Nov. 25.

Decorate your tree:

Scentimental Gardens in Geneva is hosting a workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 8 to create a miniature fresh tree decorated with embellished glass ornaments and finishing with a flocking of fresh-looking snow. Bring your own container for the tree, all other supplies will be provided. Cost is $45 per person and RSVPs are due before Dec. 8. Scentimental Gardens is at 428 W. State St. Call (630) 232-1303.

GOP picks three women:

Joyce Hundhausen of Carol Stream, Penny Falcon of Aurora and Pat Fee of Naperville have been selected as executive officers of the Illinois Federation of Republican Women. Hundhausen is the district office manager for state Rep. Franco Coladipietro. Falcon is a board member for the Aurora Republican Women's Organization. Fee is a legislative aide for state Rep. Darlene Senger.
