Buffalo Grove
• Bradley S. Schulze, 27, of 200 block of North Clyde, Palatine, was arrested at 1:55 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Dominick's 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, and charged with retail theft after the store manager reported that two subjects entered the store, filled several bags with merchandise and attempted to leave without paying. The manager was able to detain one of the subjects. Schulze's court date is Dec. 4 in Rolling Meadows.
• Burglars removed the navigation system from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Twisted Oak Lane overnight Oct. 26.
• The resident of a dwelling in the 700 block of Alsace Circle reported that his wife gave him $5,000, which he placed into a briefcase in the kitchen closet. On Oct. 26, the resident found the money missing; the residence is for sale and numerous persons have been in and out of the house recently.
Elk Grove Village
• Kyle M. Knapp, 20, of Appleton, Wis., was arrested at 10 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 2900 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. His next court date is Nov. 6.
• Pablo Hernandez, 31, of the 2000 block of West Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, was arrested about 4:50 p.m. Oct. 22 at Busse Road and Howard Street and charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage. His next court date is Nov. 6. •Thieves took $3,000 in scrap metal from Jackson Spring Manufacturing Co., 299 Bond St., between Oct. 23-26.
• Thieves took $3,550 in metal spikes, slide plates and metal braces from a Union Pacific Railway shed at 2511 Pratt Blvd. between Oct. 26-27
• Burglars broke out the front passenger window of a 1997 Chevrolet Venture van and took the DVD player and related items for loss and damage of $1,120 during the day Oct. 23 in the 1200 block of Mark Street.
2400 Landmeier Rd.
• Burglars broke the driver-side window on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado truck and stole a GPS unit, for loss and damage of $400, during the day Oct. 26 in the 2400 block of Landmeier Road.
Rolling Meadows
• Marco Reyes, 25, of the 1700 block of North Harding, Chicago, and Mario Caldera, 21, of the 2600 block of Brookwood Way, Rolling Meadows, were arrested about 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 in the 2600 block of Brookwood Way. Reyes was charged with theft and criminal trespass to property. Caldera was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and obstructing police. Their next court date is Nov. 10. Reports said officers responding to a report of an armed robbery with a handgun learned in talking to witnesses and suspects that one person had taken money and marijuana from the other, but that there was no armed robbery.
• Susan M. Pianovski, 37, of the 3300 block of Oriole Lane, Rolling Meadows, was arrested about noon Oct. 25 at Walmart and charged with retail theft. Her next court date is Dec. 7.
• Someone is stealing cell phones from male students' gym lockers at Rolling Meadows High School. A black and purple Motorola Rival worth $200 was taken the afternoon of Oct. 13, a green and silver T349 cell phone worth $150 and $30 in cash the afternoon of Sept. 23, a black Blackberry worth $100 the morning of Sept. 4, a black iPod Touch phone worth $120 the morning of Sept. 14.
• Someone removed a Verizon cell phone worth $100, keys and wallet containing identification and a debit card from a hockey bag on the floor of a locked locker room at the West Meadows Ice Arena the afternoon of Oct. 25.
• Someone removed 13 gallons of gasoline from a1999 black Ford Mustang that was parked in a driveway in the 2300 block of Dove Street between Oct. 22-25.
• Thieves took a laptop computer worth $1,000 and a Verizon Wireless modem worth $300 from a 2006 tan Toyota Camry in a store parking lot at 1460 Golf Road the evening of Oct. 26.
• Burglars smashed the rear window of a 1991 gray Honda Accord overnight Oct. 23 in the 4800 block of Algonquin Parkway and removed the in-dash Kenwood Am/FM CD car stereo worth $1,600, a passport and a toolbox with tools.
• Vandals smashed the driver's side window to a 1998 green Plymouth Voyager Oct. 24 in the 4800 block of Algonquin Parkway, doing $175 damage.
