Dangers in our prisons?
I am writing in regard to an article written by Joseph Ryan in the Oct. 21 edition of the Daily Herald where he quoted George DeTella, a former assistant director of the Illinois Department of Corrections, who was telling about the conditions that convicted murderer James Degorski will face in prison. On word jumped out at me - "dangerous." I am not expressing any opinion about capital punishment or the verdict for Degorski. But I am wondering about the "danger" that is apparently lurking in our prison system for all prisoners. This seems wrong for the United States of America.
