Kids can learn about harvest foods at Elgin Public Museum
Help stimulate a child's natural curiosity of the diverse world around them through stories, games, crafts, songs and museum objects. Educational programs for children, age 3 to 7, along with their caregivers, are conducted on the second Saturday of each month between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Elgin Public Museum.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, children will explore Thanksgiving by taking a closer look at the harvest. Corn, beans, apples and pumpkins are a part of the fall harvest in Illinois. Join educator Marge Fox and learn about the fall harvest season through stories, games, songs and a craft. Registration is required and should be completed by Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Elgin Public Museum is at 225 Grand Blvd. in Elgin's Lords Park. The fee for each program is $10 per child. Members pay $8. Future PAWS programs include December's "Celebration: Touching on Traditions." To register call (847) 741-6655.
