Delays on Indian Trail
Indian Trail Road between Church Road and Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora will be reduced to two lanes beginning Monday, Nov. 2, while temporary pavement is installed along the outside eastbound lane. Indian Trail will remain open to traffic, but delays are expected. The work is scheduled to be finished by Nov. 25.
Kiwanis offering baskets
The Naperville Evening Kiwanis Club, with help from the Naperville North Key Club, will be selling holiday fruit baskets and gourmet nuts this year. Orders should be submitted by Nov. 20 and baskets will be wrapped in early December at Naperville North. Proceeds will allow the Kiwanis to continue support for Family Shelter Services, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Easter Seals and four scholarships for Key Club members. Annual coat drive
Gently used coats, jackets, scarves and mittens are being accepted starting Monday, Nov. 2, in the main lobby at Lombard village hall, 255 E. Wilson. Village hall is one of nine drop-off locations for the 12th annual Sen. Dan Cronin coat drive. The drive has collected and distributed more than 26,000 coats since 1998. Winter gear will be accepted through mid-December. Items are distributed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, York Township Public Assistance, Ray Graham Association, veterans' organizations and area school districts.
Holiday volunteers wanted
Naperville-area residents who want to serve as Santa's elves at the Santa House and help with other holiday events are invited to a Holiday Volunteer Open House and Sign-Up Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Riverwalk Community Center, 205 W.
