Carpentersville police still investigating shooting at Fox View

A 36-year-old Carpentersville man was injured Thursday night after being shot in the arm while riding in a car in the Fox View Apartments, Carpentersville police said.

Cmdr. Michael Kilbourne said the victim was a passenger in a car on Oxford Road when a man walking down a sidewalk in the apartment complex opened fire on the vehicle at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kilbourne said between two and six shots were fired at the car.

One of the shots hit the passenger in the arm, Kilbourne said.

The passenger was treated at a hospital for a nonlife threatening injury, Kilbourne said. Police are searching for the shooter. Kilbourne said he is unsure whether it was a gang shooting.
