'The Legend of Dracula' featured at Round Lake High School

The Round Lake High School Theater Department presents "Nosferatu: The Legend of Dracula" this weekend at the high school. Director Garry Ebel tells us what you need to know.

Q. Briefly, what is this play about?

A. The play is based on the Bram Stoker novel about Dracula and the hunt to destroy him.

What type of play is it?

A. This adaptation is true to the book with a contemporary twist here and there. It is a thriller and a drama.

Tell us what you know about the author, and the history behind this play.

A. Abraham "Bram" Stoker was an Irish novelist and short story writer, best known today for his 1897 Gothic novel "Dracula."

What's the appeal of doing this play from your point of view?

A. It's a classic story of good versus evil. We are taking the production and giving it in unique, stylized look.

What makes this play fabulous?

A. It's a very theatrical, beautiful, image-filled production, with lots of opportunity to be thrilled and at the same time entertained.

Without giving too much away, is there a "don't miss" moment, and when does it come?

A. I think it's interesting that many people don't really know the story of Dracula as it was originally written. There are many "don't miss" moments.
