No injuries in Naperville house fire
No one was injured in a house fire early Wednesday in the 400 block of E. Eighth Street in Naperville, authorities said.
The blaze, which officials said appears to be accidental, caused about $80,000 damage.
Firefighters were called around 2 a.m. and found smoke flowing out the windows of the single-story house.
A resident already was outside and told firefighters everyone had safely escaped.
Firefighters entered the house through heavy smoke, found the fire in a basement workshop and put it out. The fire also had spread to the first floor of the home.
Firefighters said the blaze was extinguished by 2:16 a.m.
The workshop was destroyed and there was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the rest of the house, authorities said.
The three adult residents will have to find other accommodations until their home is repaired, officials said.
