ESO to launch a group for young professionals
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will host a launch party for their new young professionals group, Club 51, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at Elgin Public House, 219 Chicago St., after the Schubert "Unfinished Symphony" performance at the Hemmens.
Club 51 - named after the year 1951 during which the ESO held their first performance - invigorates young professionals, age 25-40 interested in social, networking, and volunteer opportunities linked to ESO events. Club 51 promotes dynamic experiences to build an appreciation for the arts and energize the next generation of classical music enthusiasts.
This is the first time the ESO has launched a Young Professionals Group in its 60 years. "We are very excited for the launch of Club 51," said Dale J. Lonis, ESO chief executive officer. "It's perfect for the ESO to form this club aimed at young professionals. These are the very people who are upcoming community leaders, the next generation of business owners, and future board members of nonprofit organizations such as the ESO. The social nature of concerts and symphonic events is a natural platform on which groups like this thrive."
For information or to register, call the ESO Administrative Offices at (847) 888-0404 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Registration is required for this free event. To stay up-to-date on all ESO events, visit ElginSymphony.org or at Facebook www.facebook.com/ElginSymphonyOrchestra.
