No charges yet in Hanover Park standoff

Charges have yet to be filed against the man who barricaded himself in a Hanover Park residence on Saturday. The man, whose identity has not been released, was wanted on a warrant for attempted murder from Emmett Township Police Department in Michigan. When Hanover Park police tried to arrest the man on the 1300 block of Bamberg Court around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the man indicated he was armed and threatened to harm police and himself. He barricaded himself inside the apartment building and surrendered around 4:30 a.m. Sunday to the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System's Emergency Services Team. No one was injured in the incident.
