Questions Palatine's use of road funds

When the Village of Palatine decided to simply patch up some of our side streets this year rather than redo them, they left our streets looking like a checkerboard of concrete and blacktop not to mention chunks of curb missing from homeowners parkways.

Yet I have seen the street cleaner sweeping the streets more times than I can count in the last six months.

I have to wonder how we have the money to fuel the street cleaner many times over, versus giving the village taxpayers side streets we can be cosmetically proud of. We work hard to maintain our homes and property, and would hope our officials would want to do the same for the residents in regards to the streets in our neighborhoods.
