Thanks to Sleepy Hollow Service Club

In the midst of larger municipalities, including Elgin, canceling their fireworks displays, the Sleepy Hollow Service Club members did it again. Their hard work and diligence gave residents from a wider-than-usual area a July Fourth show that did not disappoint. The man hours spent to organize, set up and host these events is immeasurable. I applaud the dedication of these men. Now this industrious band of volunteers is once again meeting and planning "Halloween in the Hollow," another popular annual occurrence.

If you have an opportunity to attend "Halloween in the Hollow" you can sample cider and chili, enjoy a hayride, be entertained by a costume parade and be thrilled as the headless horseman thunders by the enormous bonfire. And while you are there, thank those service club members when you see them. They will be the guys working hard while the rest of us play.
