Hoffman Estates man accused of raping Elgin child
Bond was set at $500,000 Thursday for a 23-year-old Hoffman Estates man accused of raping a girl younger than 9 in Elgin.
Jesus A. Julio, of the 2000 block of Greenfield Road, is charged in Kane County with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, court records show.
Prosecutors said Julio sexually assaulted a girl he knew at her Elgin home in May 2004. Authorities would not release additional information.
Julio appears to have no prior criminal history in Kane County.
The most serious charge against him is a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
He remained in the county jail Thursday, pending a Nov. 4 court appearance before Judge Thomas E. Mueller. There was no attorney listed for Julio, who also is being sought by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, records show.
