Skoien faces challenger for GOP committeeman post

Palatine Councilman Aaron De. Mar, elected last April, said Tuesday he is challenging incumbent Gary Skoien for the position of Palatine Township Republican committeeman. Skoien, former GOP Cook County party chairman, couldn't be reached for comment. Del Mar said his goals include bringing more people into the organization, facilitating fundraising and creating a positive image of the Republican Party in the township.
