Police: Suspect arrested in Ill. motel killing

FAIRMONT CITY -- Investigators say they've made an arrest in the weekend killing of a Missouri man whose body was found in a motel room in southwestern Illinois.

Authorities aren't yet identifying the suspect in the shooting death of 33-year-old Octavio Contreras of Rolla, Mo., until expected charges are filed.

Jeff Connor of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis says Contreras' body was found Sunday at the Royal Relax Inn in Fairmont City in St. Clair County.

Connor says Contreras was a concrete worker who was visiting a friend in the area.
