We must provide health care for all

As a nurse, mother and daughter of elderly parents, I am appalled at our health care system.

The current system is fragmented and works only for the Insurance companies. The HIPAA law did very little to protect the consumer. The insurance companies are the only agencies that HIPAA does not protect the consumer from however insurance companies are who consumers need protection from the most.

President Obama has a great health care plan to offer everyone the same insurance the politicians and his family have is great. As a nurse discharge planner I cannot wait till I am Medicare eligible. Medicare is the best insurance available it does not penalize the patient.

Medicare is government run and has been a leader of health care initiatives enlarging the pool of contributors will ensuring services continue.

I am also endorsing any legislature providing coverage for everyone - undocumented workers and all human beings. If a person is ill they are entitled to medical care. Withholding medical care is foolish. If appropriate medical care is not provided it becomes a very costly and potentially deadly mistake that as a society we pay dearly for those mistakes of ignorance. Spreading infection because medical care is withheld is foolish and unsafe for every member of our nation.
