Time to bring down red light cameras

Roll, roll, roll your car merrily down the street ... take a chance and make your right ... a ticket is what you will meet?

When was the last time you got pulled over for making a right turn on red by an officer on duty? My guess is never, because this is not something officers deem as a safety concern. These red light cameras are not just a pathetic excuse for the state to collect more money; they are also causing more accidents than preventing them. Citizens no longer feel safe driving due to the heightened sense of anxiety. How many seconds do you wait before turning? The brakes are slammed, tires screech, bumpers smash and the flash goes off.

Weeks later, a $75 ticket arrives at your door. When will this hectic nuisance come to an end? The courthouses are flooded with innocent victims trying to plead out of the persecution they face by receiving erroneous red light tickets. As they should, they will continue to beleaguer the judges who should be spending their time on more productive issues.

All in favor of bringing down these red light cameras - do something about it. Write to the senator, flood the papers. We need to come together as a society in order to bring justice back to the people.
