Restaurant worker stabbed during Naperville robbery

An employee of Key Wester restaurant in Naperville was stabbed and beaten during a weekend armed robbery in the parking lot.

He was treated and released from Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora while police are searching for three suspects.

Naperville police say the victim, 23-year-old man from Aurora, was alone in the parking lot of the restaurant, 1975 Glacier Park Dr., about 2 a.m. Sunday when he was attacked. There is no indication he knew his assialants, according to Cmdr. Mike Anders.

Anders was unsure as to what was taken from the man.

The man's wife drove him to the hospital, where he was treated for a minor injury, then police were notified about the incident.

Police responded to both the hospital and the restaurant and are still investigating.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white, early 1990s Cadillac. One of the attackers is described as a black male in his early 20s who stands about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a thin build and no facial hair. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

The second suspect is a black male in his early 20s who stands about 6 feet tall with thin build, no facial hair and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

The third suspect is a Hispanic male described as short and thin.

Police do not believe the incident is connected to an armed robbery that took place Saturday near North Central College.

Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
