Wizard rock concert coming to Palatine library

At Palatine Library, it's time to put the books down for a fun and other worldly Wizard Rock Concert 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

"Wrock" out to Harry Potter-style music played by Chicago-based bands Dreary Inferi and Diagon Alley. Consider making an entrance to the main library, 700 N. North Court, in your favorite Hogwarts attire. Budget-conscious teens will appreciate that all you need is a valid library card to get a ticket.

The first 100 teens to register and attend will also have a chance to win a video camcorder. Tickets are available in advance at the Reader Assistance Desk and all library branches beginning Oct. 1, with a valid district library card. You must be present to win.

"This is something new for us," said Megan Ower, teen librarian. "It's got all the makings of a great event: Muggle-licous grub, music and even a prize."
