Wilmette student killed at Johns Hopkins

The pickup truck that struck and killed a 20-year-old Wilmette college student in Baltimore has been located, but the driver remains missing, police officials said.

Police said the white Ford F-250 sought in the hit-and-run crash that killed Miriam Frankl at Johns Hopkins University was found in northwest Baltimore around midnight Saturday. The truck had damage to the right passenger side.

Police said the truck hit Frankl, a junior molecular and cell biology major, then left the scene Friday afternoon. She died early Saturday.

Police said the truck is registered to a resident of Carroll County and was not reported stolen.

A memorial service for Frankl is expected to be held on campus, but arrangements have not been completed.
