Wolves' mistakes costly in loss

The Hamilton Bulldogs held off the Chicago Wolves 5-4 on Saturday night at the Allstate Arena.

"It was a battle to the end and we certainly generated a lot of chances," said Wolves coach Don Granato. "I really felt the game could have gone either way. The frustrating thing is we gave up goals were weren't overwhelmed on. We made mistakes and paid the price with the result."

Andrew Kozek had 2 goals and 3 points for the Wolves, while Brian Sipotz (2 assists), Kevin Doell (2 assists) and Spencer Machacek also contributed.

Matt Anderson narrowed the deficit to 5-4 with 4:55 left in the game when he surprised Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins with a quick shot from low in the slot, but the clock ran out on the Wolves' comeback.

Drew MacIntyre (0-4-0) had 22 saves for the Wolves.
