Carol Stream police hunt suspect who fired gun

Carol Stream police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an early Friday morning shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police officials said one shot was fired at a Glendale Heights man who was visiting the complex at about 12:17 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Gundersen Drive. The man was not struck, but fled the area. Police were notified of the shooting, but couldn't find any evidence when they arrived at the scene.

About a half-hour later the man who was targeted reported the incident to Glendale Heights police, Carol Stream officials said. The intended target told police who he believed fired the shot and now police are hunting for the suspected shooter, whom they refused to identify.

Police officials wouldn't comment about the relationship between the two men other than to say they were "acquaintances."
