Outlook Just as it wasn't easy ending an eight-game losing streak to Proviso East, the challenge of ending a nine-gamer to Lyons will also be tough. The Lions led Hinsdale Central 42-28 in the third before giving up the final 28 points and have a dual threat QB in Ryan Mitchell (353 total yards, 4 TDs last week) complemented by RB Nic Brown. "They are definitely a scary team," said Leyden coach Tom Cerasani. "Their offense is pretty dang good. I told the kids this is a playoff week because they're definitely a playoff team." But Leyden's defense led by relentless DE Jeff Cascella and DE Dan Kiebler keeps getting better and RB Angel Maldonado, who set the school's single season rushing record last week and has 1,524 yards, will be a key to keeping the Lions offense off the field.
