What are hospitals doing to cut costs?

Like most front-page news stories nowadays, the "health care crisis" coverage has become stagnant, repetitive, non-informational and boring. The President want this, the Republicans want that, the industry (note: not profession) wants no changes to their comfort zones.

Protect the investors and shareholders and their lackey PAC lobbyists who buy politicians for a living. Try to keep it as complex as possible so the taxpayers won't figure it out.

But what about those who directly raise the cost of health care - doctors, lawyers, hospital administrators and insurance executives? What are they doing to check or lower the cost of health care besides building more monuments and subsidizing wasteful and unjustified studies and research? It is not just a case of the fox guarding the hen house, but a gang of foxes defending the whole farm.
