Missing 87-year-old found dead in Bureau County

PRINCETON -- Authorities say an elderly East Moline woman missing since Tuesday evening has been found dead near Princeton.

East Moline Police say 87-year-old Alice Rodelius apparently drove to a rural area of Bureau County where her vehicle got stuck on an ATV trail and she got out. Her body was found Thursday a few feet from her vehicle, and Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff says she apparently died of exposure.

No foul play is suspected.

The woman's car was found on a narrow wooden bridge at Camp MennoHaven, a religious retreat west of Tiskilwa. The bridge is not designed for cars or trucks, and one wheel of the woman's car dropped off the side of the bridge as she was crossing it.
