Hanover Park swears in chief

David Webb was to be officially sworn in as police chief at a ceremony Thursday night at Hanover Park's village board meeting. Webb had been serving as interim chief following Chief Ron Moser's appointment as village manager. As expected, Moser tapped Webb to be his successor. Webb, whose appointment became effective Monday, joined the department out of college in 1990 and was promoted to deputy chief in 2005. He's the ninth man to serve as police chief since Hanover Park was incorporated in 1958.
