3 charged with beating homeless man
Chicago police say three men have been charged for their alleged roles in an attack on a homeless man on the city's Near North Side.
Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak says 25-year-old Juan Mendoza, 22-year-old Gilberto Galvez and 25-year-old Adrien Brito were each charged Thursday with aggravated battery.
Kubiak says Mendoza allegedly approached the 37-year-old homeless man on North Wabash Avenue early Thursday morning and struck him with a beer bottle. She says Galvez and Brito then allegedly joined in and beat the man. The man suffered a concussion and fractured ribs. He was listed in serious condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Another man, 22-year-old Angelo Rosales, was charged with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and aggravated assault to a peace officer in the same incident.
