Rockford men charged in Huntley burglaries

Police have arrested two Rockford men accused of stealing cash and items out of at least five vehicles in Huntley's Wing Pointe subdivision on Sept. 28.

Tyler M. Burnett, 18, and Karac L. Hecox, 24, both of the 1700 block of Rural Street, were charged with the burglaries, police said.

Police say the men entered five vehicles parked on Cape Cod Lane, Wing Pointe Drive and Yellowstone Drive, stealing three iPods, a laptop computer, a radar detector, a portable DVD player, a GPS unit, a cell phone, credit cards, sunglasses and $50 in cash. Three of the vehicles were unlocked.

Huntley police arrested the men after receiving a tip from Algonquin police.

Burnett was released on Oct. 5 after posting $3,000. Hecox was still being held at the McHenry County jail Monday. He will have to post $6,000 to be released. Both men are due in court today .
