Get your Geneva souvenirs at city hall

Do you love to show your love for Geneva?

Do you need stocking-stuffers for Christmas?

A new deal at City Hall can meet both needs.

The city has set up a display case in the lobby, and is selling items such as pens, lapel pins and coffee cups, all bearing the City of Geneva logo.

It's the brainchild of City Administrator Mary McKittrick.

"Over the years, for various events, we've bought favors - small tokens - to give to guests," McKittrick said. For example, participants in the annual student government program get lapel pins, and new employees - when the city was hiring new employees - get a coffee mug.

Leftovers accumulated.

And people do call City Hall asking if there are such items, she said.

So, voila, Geneva CityStuff is now in business.

"This would be a good way to recoup some of the money" spent ordering the items, McKittrick said.

To make a purchase, stop by City Hall, 22 S. First St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
