Scouting Elk Grove @ Prospect

MID-SUBURBAN EAST

Elk Grove (4-2, 1-1) at Prospect (5-1, 1-1)

When 7:30 p.m. today at George Gattas Stadium

Last week Elk Grove lost to Rolling Meadows 12-3; Prospect d. Hersey 40-0

Outlook Prospect's defense hopes it started to rebound last week and will be tested this week as Elk Grove and QB Nick Meyer look to bounce back after being held to 118 total yards by Meadows. "I think we've gotten better in practice with our (personnel) changes and scheme," said Prospect coach Brent Pearlman. "Elk Grove is a good offensive team so we'll probably find out a lot more. It will be a major challenge for us and they're a good defense, too." Meyer, CB Eddie Stahl and the rest of the Grens' second and third lines of defense will try to contain QB Miles Osei and WRs Peter Bonahoom and John Coen. "We know you have to score against Prospect to beat them because they're a scoring machine," said Elk Grove coach Brian Doll. "We've put a lot of emphasis on how we're going to clean things up on offense. I think our kids have some confidence seeing people have scored on them, but I don't think you can stop Miles Osei. You just need to slow him down." Prospect has won four straight and seven of eight in a series Elk Grove leads 22-18.
