Here's proof that concealed carry works

I would just like to write a response to Jim Peterson's letter, which raises concerns about a person in a state that allows open carry of weapons by licensed law abiding gun owners. He was concerned because President Obama was speaking in the area.

I would like to commend that person who was carrying the weapon. It showed that law-abiding concealed carry or open carry people can behave. I'm sure it was a deterrent to anyone that might be thinking of doing anything evil in the crowd, knowing there were hundreds of armed people around him and not just the president's security force.

Mr. Peterson said he would no longer plan trips in states that allow such laws to exist. Well, sir, your vacations and trips will be very limited to only Illinois and Wisconsin. Those are the only two states left without some form of concealed carry. If you have ever visited a restaurant in Indiana. those people were armed. I have many times and felt very secure that if someone came in with a gun to do harm, I was well protected by 30 people in the restaurant who could stop him cold.

Then you said you were going to contribute to gun control groups. All gun control does is eliminate work hazards for criminals.

The FBI just reported violent crime across the U.S. just dropped a whole 1.9 percent Murder was the one that dropped the most. This shows conceal carry works.

So Mr. Peterson enjoy your future years traveling from the Wisconsin Dells to Springfield.

I would rather see the rest of beautiful America, while knowing thousands of law-abiding people are there to protect me in my travels.
