Donate food, get your gourd at Libertyville event

PumpkinFest, MainStreet Libertyville's bounty of fall fun, will be held in downtown Libertyville on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Libertyville's Sunrise & Noon Rotary Clubs invite you to donate a food item for the Libertyville Township Food Pantry and receive a free pumpkin. Events take place throughout the downtown area near Cook Park.

"Touch and See the Trucks" on Church Street from 10 a.m. to noon. See and climb into ambulance, fire trucks, Com Ed cherry pickers, high loaders and more. It is brought to you by the Cook Memorial Library District.

"Improv Playhouse Hayrides" will be on Broadway near the St. Joseph's playground from noon to 2 p.m. Come downtown and ride the horse-drawn hay wagon.

The Merchants of MainStreet will have many fun activities in the stores, including story telling at Petranek's Pharmacy at 11:30 a.m., paint and keep a pumpkin maraca at Case Bonita, a kid's crafts table at Trattoria Pomigliano, a cotton candy machine at Viva Le Vine, paint and keep a pumpkin at Parkview Gourmet, guess the weight of the giant pumpkin at the Law Offices of Terry Weppler, and many more fun things to do.

PumpkinFest is one of 19 community events organized and produced each year by MainStreet Libertyville, a nonprofit, volunteer based organization located in downtown Libertyville. Call the MainStreet office at (847) 680-0336 for further details.
