Children can explore bird migration at museum
Help stimulate a child's natural curiosity of the diverse world around them through stories, games, crafts, songs and museum objects. Educational programs for children 3 to 7 years old, along with their caregivers, are conducted on the second Saturday of each month between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Elgin Public Museum.
Join educator Marge Fox as she continues her adventures to different habitats. This month, on Oct. 10, "In the Air" will focus on the flight of birds. Some birds migrate thousands of miles and return to the same place each year. Learn how they manage this amazing feat and if you are lucky, you may even be able to see some of these feathered friends. Registration is required.
The Elgin Public Museum is at 225 Grand Blvd. in Elgin's Lords Park. The fee for each program is $10 per child. Members pay $8. Future PAWS programs include November's "Harvest: In the Garden" and December's "Celebration: Touching on Traditions." To register, call (847) 741-6655.
