•Jeanine Nicarico, 10, a Naperville fifth-grader who overcame an early difficulty with reading and loved horses, died Feb. 25, 1983.

•Donna Kay Schnorr, 27, an athletic, independent-minded Geneva nurse who often spoiled her nephews, died July 15, 1984.

•Melissa Ackerman, 7, of Somonauk, a young gymnast, died June 2, 1985.
