Fire to celebrate with fans at 12th anniversary bash

Chicago Fire Soccer and its supporter club, Section 8 Chicago, will celebrate the club's 12th anniversary on Thursday at Toyota Park in an event open to all fans.

The celebration, which will include food, music and picnic games, will start at 6 p.m., and fans can mingle with players and Chicago Fire staff.

"This is a great opportunity for the Chicago Fire community to celebrate both the anniversary and this great game with friends, family and fans, all of whom are the lifeblood of our club," said Frank Klopas, the team's technical director who's also serving as the event's host.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased section8chicago.com, or $20 at the door. The ticket includes the price of admission as well as all food and drink at the party.

On the menu is roasted pig and lamb, salad, meatless pasta, fruit, beer, water and other snacks. Fans may bring additional food and beverages if they wish. All proceeds from the event will benefit Section 8 Chicago.

Section 8 Chicago is also offering fans a $20 ticket that includes a bus ride to and from the event at to the park, departing downtown from the Elephant and Castle pub.
