Students should hear president every year

When I woke up on Sept. 8, my mom and dad told me that President Obama will be speaking to the kids.

I was disappointed that our school did not show him speaking. The school told us that they will check the speech first to see if it is something we would understand.

I asked my mom to print it out and read the speech to me. I was happy to hear the president's speech.

I propose that we hear our president every year at the beginning of the school and celebrate this day as the Teacher-Student day.

I learned so many facts from the speech. It was good to hear many success stories of children just like me.

My mom tells me that our ancestors helped in the civil war therefore I would like to join the army as a doctor. I promise to work hard and get good grades and not back-talk my teachers.

As our president said, "I have the responsibility to myself and to the country."
