Some plans fall short of minimums

There is one seemingly small but very important item in the health care/insurance debate which does not get mentioned anywhere.

My wife and I have a major medical health insurance policy with a $3,000 annual deductible feature. We figure that $3,000 a year will not break us, but this policy is much less expensive that one that has no deductible or a very small one.

If the federal government forces everyone to have health insurance they surely will prescribe the type of policy everyone must have. That policy will not be a major medical one with a high deductible like the one we have.

That means higher premiums for us and the millions of people with similar health insurance. Don't be deluded into thinking that just because you have health insurance that it will meet government minimum requirements.
