Pink spot disease rampant in St. Charles

Woe to any of the beautiful old shade trees in St. Charles should The Lord High Executioner (also known as the city arborist) deem them unfit to stand the test of time any longer because of a dead branch or other defect that might cause them someday to fall into the street. Alas, such poor stately monuments will most likely succumb to the dreaded St. Charles pink spot disease, which seals their fate to be transformed into piles of firewood.

Most communities cherish these masterpieces and do whatever possible to preserve their magnificence, but not so in St. Charles. Should this pink spot disease go unchecked, St. Charles will lose more and more of its wonderful old assets that make it the beautiful place that it is. All because of the fear of what might happen.

Should I not bathe for fear I might fall when exiting the tub?
