When Today at 7 p.m. at Dan Horne Field

Last year Hampshire 27, Harvard 20

Last week Richmond-Burton 37, Hampshire 14; Harvard 49, Marengo 14

Outlook After facing powerful Richmond-Burton last week, the Whip-Purs hit the road to face Big Northern-East co-leading Harvard. The Hornets are led by running back Vince Gabrys, who has rushed for 638 yards and 10 touchdowns on 79 carries in coach Tim Haak's offense. The Hampshire coaching staff knows from experience what the Hornets will try to accomplish offensively. "We call it a dive and slice and Tim's done it for years," Hampshire coach Dan Cavanaugh said. "It's a nice little package they have. They throw some good play-action off it, and they'll run that until you stop it, though they are pretty balanced this year." Despite last week's loss Hampshire made some strides. "There were a lot of good things to take out of the Richmond game," Cavanaugh said. "We moved the ball well offensively, I thought. We can build off that against Harvard. If we just clean up a couple of mistakes here or there, we feel we'll be right there."
