Black pick-up truck sought in Mundelein hit-and-run accident
Mundelein police are searching for a black pick-up truck that was involved in a three-car, hit-and-run accident on Butterfield Road and Route 60 early Friday.
Cmdr. John Monahan of the Mundelein Police Department said the pick-up truck was heading northbound on Butterfield at about 6:55 a.m. when it struck a passenger car sitting at the corner of Butterfield and Armor Drive.
Monahan said, the force of the collision caused the car to hit the vehicle in front of it, which was also sitting in a long line of traffic near the Route 60 and Butterfield intersection.
Following the accident, the black truck continued around the line of traffic northbound on Butterfield, before turning eastbound on Route 60.
Two people were injured in the accident, Monahan said. Both were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with nonlife threatening injuries.
Monahan said anyone who has seen the black pick-up truck sporting heavy damage on the front end should contact the Mundelein Police Department at (847) 968-4600.
