United Airlines to add Internet service on 13 planes

United Airlines, the third-largest U.S. carrier, said it will add Aircell LLC's Gogo Internet service to its fleet, starting with 13 of its Boeing Co. 757 planes that fly cross-country.

The service will cost $7.95 to $12.95 depending on the length of the flight, Rahsaan Johnson, a spokesman for the carrier's Chicago-based parent UAL Corp., said today in an e- mail message.

United follows Delta Air Lines Inc. and AMR Corp.'s American Airlines, the two largest carriers, in adding in- flight Internet service to woo business passengers and create new sources of revenue beyond tickets.
