Minor injury in Carpentersville fire

No one was seriously hurt after a young child playing with a lighter set fire to curtains in a Carpentersville basement around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters said.

One female occupant was treated on the scene for a minor hand injury she suffered while exiting the house. The family of five that lives in the home was able to get out by the time firefighters arrived.
