City studies 5th Avenue:
Naperville City Council will discuss the draft of its 5th Avenue Study Report during a workshop at 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at city hall, 400 S. Eagle St. The city conducted the study to evaluate land use, commuter parking and traffic flow in the area of the downtown train station. It hopes to use the results to make recommendations to guide potential redevelopment, parking, transportation and streetscape improvements.
Parks to hold open house:
Naperville Park District will present a study it's doing of the Barn Recreation Center and Central Maintenance Facility at an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at 421 W. Martin Ave., Naperville. The study examines the existing and future needs for these facilities. The public is invited. Those unable to attend the open house can visit napervilleparks.org to learn more about the plans and comment on them through Oct. 15.
Church to show video series:
Cornerstone Church will show the video series, "In the Footsteps of Paul," filmed on location in the lands the Apostle Paul traveled, at 7 p.m. Oct. 2, 3, 7, 9. 10, 14, 16, 17, 21, 23, 24 and 28, at 1433 N. Main St., Naperville. The series is narrated by Tony Moore, who has researched the history and culture of the biblical world for more than 30 years.
